I dont think telling his past was to justify his actions, I mean being screwed up might be due to the abuse, but some people dont even have that (an abused past) to blame for their sh*ty personality,I think he just related to him when he saw he was abused too, and that caught his attention... (and ended up on that rape due to his sh*ty personality) he only told him about his past because he kept on saying "you dont know how it is"
