It's a yuri where a subordinate finds out that her boss is a lesbian and they start to have lots of sex, the boss has dark hair and kinda hate the subordinate (who has blond hair)

Sora June 14, 2019 11:41 pm

Ok so I forgot the name of a manga and it has been updated recently, it's the story of a girl who died drowning in a river right after her boyfriend dumped her, she got reincarnated as the villain of an otome game and her fiancee broke the engagement at the ball party to be with the heroine saying that the villain has insulted the heroine (can't remember the names sorry) and acted rude towards her, turned out she was right to do that and the prince was just stupid, then a foreign prince saved her and proposed to her but the heroine made a fuss and ashamed herself

Does anyone know how to remove a tag from AO3? I want to read F/F works but without seeing multi, how can I do that? When I search I just want to see F/F, not multi also, don't sure I am being clear

Didn't they just placed an exclude tag section? Though you're right I can see it's not there in the search page. But it shows when you're under works e.g. https://archiveofourown.org/tags/Haikyuu!!/works
You'll see the Exclude section then expand on Categories, then tick Multi.

Hey, I was wondering, why do you think there is so much more people who loves yaoi than Yuri? I mean, such a difference is weird no? The amount of people shouldn't be nearly the same?

    Anonymous March 12, 2018 10:29 pm

its the same with world, how everyone loves lesbians but people hate on gay guys. They get most of the shit from everyone

    Anonymous March 12, 2018 10:36 pm

I've only read a handful of Yuri, but could it be because Yuri sometimes borrows from Shoujo tropes? Yaoi does the same with certain relationships, like student-teacher and upper classmen-lower classmen. Yaoi from the early 2000s does the same, but there's always been room for different types of relationships. Does yaoi experiement with different relationships more than Yuri? I'm asking because my Yuri knowledge is very limited.

    Anonymous March 12, 2018 10:38 pm

Well usually the Yuri plots aren’t all that good. Like I’m a lesbian that also likes yaoi, I would like Yuri more but mostly the art and plot don’t do for me.

    Sora March 12, 2018 10:39 pm

Well for that I think it's because of the old society... A man who gets penetrate is seen as if he depreciates himself... And guys are stuck with the role of the projector of the family so they can't be weak... It's totally stupid... Meanwhile lesbians are more seen as two girls who plays with each other and it turns on a lot of guys so I think it's why... But lesbophobia exists also

    Sora March 12, 2018 10:44 pm

I was replying to the first answer btw
So for the other things, is Yuri younger than yaoi? I mean, maybe they just doesn't have the time to grow old enough for better plots cause yeah, it's very often in high school... I really like Yuri personally and since I just like reading even if the plot aren't as interesting I still read it, and also read yaoi but many of them also doesn't have a really proof and interesting story I find, so I was just guessing why the difference was so high, thanks for yours replies guys!

    yaoipockets March 12, 2018 10:48 pm

Not enough good yuri. I like both but I have yet to read a good yuri with a nice story and good sex but I’ve read plenty of yaoi with good stories and great sex. And I think censorship plays a part. Character development and being an complex character also is important and I haven’t really seen realistic and relatable characters in yuri. Yuri is kinda like eating bland food that’s different from the good things you normally eat. At the same time, I’ve read hundreds of bl manga and and the amount of gl manga I’ve read are just under the amount of fingers on my hand. Idk I haven’t seen/read enough yuri for it to come even as close as how vastly creative and interesting yaoi is.

    Anonymous March 12, 2018 10:53 pm

The caracters are just .. cold nd don't give much expression .. nd sometimes .. maybe too boring ? It has to find its way to get away from reality nd give us something crazy like yaoi did with killing staking .. easy target and so on .. or at least show a really cute side or whatever

Yes its exist, but women are aesthetically pleasing, so men get turned on and women are more open-minded, so they accept it as well. But yeah there are some ridiculous girls that say 'ew' which pisses me off and some disgusting men who are misogynist and think women should only please them. Whereas gay men are accepted by some women, not a lot tho but that changing cause of yaoi :3 . But they aren't accepted by men cause they think its toxic to their masculinity .

    Sora March 12, 2018 11:01 pm

So, I agree with the most of you, when I read the imagination that the yaoi authors have I'm just amazed, I would love more yuris in another worlds or whit some psychopaths characters xD there are some of them which have that but not a few... Then second question, why does the yuris authors stay in the reality and don't go exploring more funny ways, I mean, there are so much things to do! Argh

Then answer to the second topic xD
I think also that many stupid girls think that the gays men in yaoi are the same as in the reality and get pissed when they finally understand that it's not... Even if the yaoi helps to increase the tolerance for gays men it also has some vicious effects when the readers are too dumb... It's such a shame

yeah but the only way to change peoples mind is to use media and i think yaoi is great to make it more tolerable (I used to be so homphobic, thank god that ended).

Even if its not realistic when there is a strict top and bottom role. Theres nothing wrong with being a total bottom or top, especially total bottom. Hence most bi men love yaoi. Plus yaoi is made in japan. Women can only draw what they see and most Japanese men have that twinkish, feminine body type which i love and think is not a problem at all. Hence bi men love it but gay men prefer bara.

I hate bara tho, its too much smut and muscular and most of them don't even have a plot (except yashiro and doukmei but that yaoi story, not bara but they are muscular (heart eyes)).

It's cause they are made by gay men who rather go straight into it then make a plot. Its the same with yuri, its made by straight men who rather go into smut (you can tell me off with this one, cause i haven't read any Gl, so I don't know how its like, but i want to read it. I prefer anything that not heterosexual lmao).

Wherease yaoi is made by straight women who love plot and buildup rather than the actual smut. There are smutty yaoi out there tho.

    Anonymous March 12, 2018 11:20 pm

A lot of people don’t like the way women are portrayed in manga or manwha. It’s pretty sexist. Yaoi is a bit less sexist, and when it is its sexist against women instead of the “real world” which is sexist against women. So women prefer yaoi. If they came out with non-sexist yuri I’d read it.

    Anonymous March 12, 2018 11:22 pm

I think Yuri authors/ mangaka might fall into the same trap many authors do. They have trouble writing good female characters. It's harder to write imaginative plots when you don't have a good sense of how characters should act to make a story belivable. Yaoi has this same problem. There's rarely any good female characters.

Yaoi definitely doesn't come close to actual LGBT stories, but there are exceptions that are written by male and female authors. Does Yuri have the same problems?

There's no "less sexist" in my book. Yaoi IS sexist. I've tons and tons of yaoi where the seme or uke generalize women. I remember reading a manga where the seme straight up said women are troublesome, so he prefers men. Some call women spoiled as well. It can get pretty disgusting after a while, but I overlook it for the sake of the plot.

Yeah I still believe that yaoi is a good way to put an end to homophobia but for the homophobes it's a way to prove that homosexuality is a bad thing because of the twisted characters xD And what's important is what you are now! You can't helped if younger you were stupid, it's amazing to see how you have changed!

It's a sadly thing to see that the bottom role is still categorized as the person who is dominated hence who is weaker than the top... Personally I love more it when the position twist but I don't mind if they are always the same also

Yeah bara is not really my type either...

Some long gl there are moonlight garden which takes place in another world, the plot is really interesting but you have to read many chapters for the story to really begin, and the sexs scenes are well drawn I think... Elixir takes place in our world but with witches and there are twisted characters and good sexs scenes also and the art is peculiar, what does the fox says and pulse take place in a realistic world and... Good sexs scenes also
And some funny that is shorter there is nicocchu, and many others but I don't remember the names xD

When the plot is good and the characters are developed with deep feelings and complex personalities its just the best

Thank you for recommending moonlight garden. I'll read it.

You should read haru wo daite ita, the men switch position even if one of the is the bottom most of the time. I think they switched like 10 times in the yaoi manga and its very different to the usual yaoi troupe. Its a story that doesn't end when they get together, it keeps going on and on even after they are stay together and the character development is so shocking and amazing, honestly you will pull your hair out with how far they have come. Its very realistic and its old, but the old ones are the greatest ones anyway ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ since the author only starts with ink and paper and lots of planning back in the days where there wasn't as much bl as there is today. So they had to create stuff from their own imagination.

About two years ago or so I almost gave up on the entire genre because of how disappointed I was by it. Sure, every now and then I found a decent story but I had to dig through so much low-quality content to find at least one slightly entertaining manga that it just wasn't worth it anymore.
BUT then I read a yuri webcomic ("Vengeance") and I really liked it. It wasn't a masterpiece but by far better than almost every yuri manga I read. So I read another one and then another one and so on when I finally realized something.
I don't have a problem with GL in general, I only have a problem with Japanese GL/yuri *manga*.

-Most characters in yuri manga look like little girls/are lolis. Even adult women often look extremely young and cute. If not then they usually have ridiculously sized boobs or something like that.
-The stories are too shallow and there isn't much variety when it comes to the plot. Even if you find something interesting it's probably just a one shot.
-The way the female characters are portrayed is off-putting to me.
-And last but not least, the sex scenes are often disappointing.

Yeah they don't come out as bi because they can't. It's still suffocating for them to be in the closets. They can't even be themselves. You should read so many comments on Reddit from bi guys and girl. Whenever they comes out as bi, they get screamed at by the opposite sex to admit that they are actually gay and they get dumped. Wherease gay men and women don't ant to get with a bi guy either becuase hey feel as if they can't offer them a family or a child like the opposite sex so they feel that the bi people will always be up leaving them for a heternormative life. And this hits there self esteem really low as well. So they aren't accepted by either. everyone thinks they are sluts and sleep around and can't Be in a relationship with one gender. Apparently they need both and people keep telling them to pick a side and plus gay men and women don't even believ bisexuality exist. It's because when gay people transitioned they were bi before and then gradually became gay. You can say all that but honestly if you look at the stats, bi people end up commiting sucicide th most cause they are unhappy.

Also the queer is really offensive for them, even if you say that. This extract is taken from a Kpop start that became asexual recently and he wrote in his letter "Truthfully, I think Korea is not very familiar with 'queer.' Many people with queer identities hide, fight (among themselves even), or do not care about the matter. Ironically, despite it being a reality, there are people who want to erase its existence. It's sad that we need to ask for outside people's consent to love who we love, and being labeled as different makes us socially disadvantaged. Honestly, there was no need for me to make this official, but I will now carefully convey my thoughts to you. Considering the past chaotic days, I wish the word 'queer' didn't exist. I wanted to know how wonderful the world would be if everyone was free under the law to love anyone, so there would be no need for the word 'queer' to exist. " most people under the queer identity feel like this except panisexual who use the word to show they can fall in love with everyone.

lmao number 1: one person doesn't decide if queer is a derogatory term
number 2: that is an example of someone from k o r e a, where lgbtqa+ is widely hated. over here, people in the lgtbqa+ community use that term to freely define themselves as part of the community, regardless of sexual orientation specifically.
number 3: it is an u m b r e l l a term that people in the community use to be inclusive. for example, a gay men could identify himself as queer, so could a lesbian woman, or a ftm trans person, or even an asexual person.
number 4: the term queer has nothing to do with "falling in love with everyone" idk where that even came from
number 5: "queer" is an even more powerful term because the slur was reclaimed by the community
number 6: it's a very very good term for people who are questioning, but don't know if they're bi, poly, genderqueer, gay, lesbian, or anything else. again, this is because it is an umbrella term used for anyone in eh community.
number 7: it's a non-binary term that can be used to bring the whole community together
so yeah, miss me with that "it's harmful" bullshit.

No I'm took an specific example from Korea to show why it's hated, this doesn't mean that I haven't I seen it hated by western guys. In fact you can start a Reddit account specifically called gaybros to ask if they find it offensive. You can be ignorant it you want.

Homosexuality was accepted back then. Gay meant being happy, it then slowly as society evolved became a term with bad connotations. Like you said the word queer was established in 1980s where the world wasn't even accepting of the term queer thus peopl hated it cause it differentiated them from normal people. It's like calling people with mental illness a special word casting them aside as not being normal. Honestly I'm stating all of this not from my opinion, I'm using context and history.

Also, just because where you live it's okay doesn't mean the entire country thinks it's okay. Have you ever heard of mansplaining? You're a woman. Don't you know how frustrating that is when men blindly say things about equal rights and the wage gap? Well you're straightsplaining right now. You are talking about secondhand sources. I am talking about my life.

uhhh yeah they have bro. idk wtf is wrong with you but why don't you listen to people from the minorities you think you know everything about before determining what is ok and what's not.
also, the term queer was reclaimed by lgtbqa+ people. it is. not. a. bad. word.
also, you seem to have a thing for reaching and trying to tell people of a certain community what they feel, when you yourself are from a complete different demographic. so yeah. shut up.

My god, the n word in spanish that mean black. I gave an example where the teachers start telling you about it in high school to never say it cause of the horrific history

I never knew racism is still a big deal today. Coming from a non-white person. Also I said straight but I am mostly pan (this transition developed over time and I only grasped it this year), I see no gender at all.

    just. what.
you said you're straight, but you're mostly pan, but you still don't refer to yourself as apart of the lgbtqa+ community? what?
who tf is talking about the spanish word for black? when you're talking about the "n" word and it's colloquial use in aave today, obviously people aren't thinking "oh they mean the spanish word" wtf

also, if you go to glaad's media references ( https://www.glaad.org/reference/lgbtq), it's literally right there:
    Queer
"An adjective used by some people, particularly younger people, whose sexual orientation is not exclusively heterosexual (e.g. queer person, queer woman). Typically, for those who identify as queer, the terms lesbian, gay, and bisexual are perceived to be too limiting and/or fraught with cultural connotations they feel don't apply to them. Some people may use queer, or more commonly genderqueer, to describe their gender identity and/or gender expression (see non-binary and/or genderqueer below). Once considered a pejorative term, queer has been reclaimed by some LGBT people to describe themselves; however, it is not a universally accepted term even within the LGBT community. When Q is seen at the end of LGBT, it typically means queer and, less often, questioning."

Do I even have to spell it out for you? the n word. Honestly stop being fucking ignorant.

I never said I don't refer to myself as part of lgbta community, . I just told you about the word queer and I said 'them' a lot because I didn't want to account for everyone. Plus I said that pansexal people like to use the word queer, compared to other people in my previous comment. Just because people are born gay, bi, lesbian. Doesn't mean that most of them knew that and had to transition especially in this hetero-normative society. This is what happened to me, okay?

that reddit post was 5 years ago, no not really applicable right now. from 2013-2018 so many things have changed and people's thinking of reappropriation has most likely been furthered since then.

people can use whatever term they feel comfortable with identifying as without you saying it's a bad word, and just has bad connotations. and that's all bc i can't take the close mindedness anymore.

The other one is 5 months ago. honestly there is no point in me arguing. You can keep using the terms, it will offend other and it won't offend everyone else . I pointed it out so that you can sensitive to other people since they only hate it cause they went through traumatic experiences. But clearly, you aren't even sensitive to racism, so I'm going to leave it here and go.

Sorry if I offend you. Good bye.
