That was what I thought at first. But then, I read the novel and I can confidently say that it won't. Just wanna assure you that the action/adventure/fantasy part of this overshadows the romance part of the story.
the story imo had a fantastic start but things started to go downhill with ml, it was still bearable though until chapters 50+. GOD that has to be one of the most extreme contrasts between a good beginning and terrible ending I've ever seen, the end was just such a genuine shitshow i could not fucking believe my eyes when i realized they were unironically trying to make you think pierrot were the good guys all along RIGHT AFTER SHOWING YOU THEM KILLING A CLOSE ASSOCIATE OF MC FOR GENUINELY 0 FUCKING REASON. WHAT??? AND THE MOM DIDNT EVEN PROCESS ML BEING EVIL IN THE SLIGHTEST??? oh and of course they never mention him being a rapist oh wow.
usually i reserve this complaint for hetslop but this story would've been so much better without ml and the romance. what a shame too because i was so excited to see a bl hunterverse, but nothings even done with it! the last time we even see mc use his powers in a meaningful way was in like less than halfway through the series when he was training his powers, because when ml takes the focus, mc just becomes a fucking sopping wet cat incapable of doing anything without his man and i mean that in the most derogatory way possible. ml isn't even that good of a man he's obsessive but not in a way that makes you get attached to or like him it's like having an actual irl man be obsessive on you and it SUCKS.
