I get what you mean. At first he was just a guy trying to live a better life by not using his ability because he knew he would take advantage of it. But now he just kinda sucks

Though his personality 'sucks' more now I actually like him more because it feels more real. John has been through some shitty things so I find it more normal for him to be like this instead of the optimist he pretends to be

ikr? He's more real and complex than most male leads you find in comics. It sucks to be at the very top or very bottom (John has experienced both) in ability, and people treat you like crap either way. It also makes you feel lonely all the time. Then there's the societal factors. John has a lot of built up emotion, which is expected. I also find him funny, which is a plus.

That's not looking at the whole picture. Arlo et al broke him down totally. His way of acting right now is all reactionary to that. And it's really making him a more multidimensional character.

He has suffered betrayal . He had put his trust on his previos friends but all they ever did was stab him in the back.wounds that can never heal take time to go away.his feelings about people has changed because of it.but now he at least taked risks to protect the girl.he is starting to change

I agree with all you guys, I just didn't like how he blamed Arlo because his barrier broke, and the fact that he would sometimes bash on Elaine without reason.

Even if that's true, that doesn't give him the right to really bash on them when in that moment, they didn't do anything. You have to understand from a perspective of Arlo where he grew up with a high status, but also understand from John's which obviously causes friction but constantly blaming Arlo and bashing on Elaine? Really--?

I kinda feel he is just stressed out y'know .. after those betrayals .. of course he doesnt want to lose his very good fren ..

I don't quite understand what you mean, but all I'm saying is that I find it quite strange for John to bash on Elaine and Arlo when they were trying to help with the situation at that time, especially yelling at Arlo and blaming him for his barrier being destroyed, even though John said so himself that those strangers had an ability of dampening other peoples abilities.

Well .. he/she might have said that the reason why John bash was because he had a hard gime .. of course due to his mistakes he took his anger towards elaine and arlo .. since they bullied them .. his anger towards them are not yet cured

Understandable, I just think that was a douchey thing that he did towards him. I'm just hoping he doesn't end up like Arlo (even though Arlo is my favourite character) I just can't help but be annoyed at John, or even have a little dislike for him but I get where you're coming from

Indeed.. i would also be disappointed if he will end up like arlo aldoe i do like arlo too .. but I don't think he will end up like him though ..
