NGL I'm hella confused about the level of technology in Romeridall (MC's homeland). Like in the first chapter the Ilya travels to Hanu by plane but then when he returned to the childhood castle they're using fireplaces and candles for lighting instead of electricity? Huh? I know Hanu is rich but how is Romeridall so weak in comparison?
Wow I totally missed that. Yeah that makes literally no sense in context with the rest of the world building. The plane was likely from Romeridall because the pilot had pale hair/skin and certain braids that are shown on several of the Romeridall background characters.
Romeridall is established as a weak country that is very advanced in technology. It’s possible that they have a lot of technical knowledge but not the resources for large scale production or sale
At first most of the issues I had were with the ML (he's still a walking red flag), but the more the story goes on the more problems I have with Kay. Like I could forgive how useless/damsel in distress he is since its common in stories like these, but his interactions with female characters (how he's clueless about leading them on) and how he basically didn't really care about how the potential treason would impact his own child is kinda cold.
