Guys, I've been going through the comments and I read the one from Noir which I totally agree with btw.
Y'all come to read a story, you realize it's messed up and not all rainbow and shit, you dislike it but you don't stop reading. Then you come to criticize the story in the comments. I mean, I get sometimes a story really shouldn't have been written from the start. But to me, at least, is decent, it's bad in terms of rape, and abuse and drugging and stuff, and the relationship are ass don't get me wrong I totally see it. But some of us still enjoy the story in itself and the art. So, when we come in the comments and fond only negative ones it's kind of you know annoying.
What I am trying to say is if you don't like it don't read it.

Those who don’t like a story are free to express their dislike even if they keep reading it. It’s just their opinion. The comment section is not just for positive comments. As long as they’re not coming for the author’s neck, I do like to see ppl’s different perspectives.
I understand that and even despite what I said, I do agree that the comment section is made to express yourself and not just for positive comments. And I appreciate seeing everyone's opinion and it helps me understand their perspectives of a story. So, I totally agree with you!!
This to ME should be a story that needs a bad ending. I mean everything from the beginning of the story to now hinted to a tragic ending. From the way it is narrated to the art.
I don't think that they should have an happy ending. Unless the happy ending is Chapel successfully getting over him and all the trauma he lived or at least like settle down with it and his feeling. For him to move on and live a "normal" life, one where he won't be tortured by his first love and his family.
Even though, I think a sad ending or so is perfect. I know this is just me wanting something angst. But I genuinely think it is the kind of ending this story should have.

a part of me wants them to have a happy ending but yeah tbh the whole plot screams from the very start that this won't have one and it can be one of the best well written doomed yaoi if it goes that way

I watch the anime when I was young, around 10 probably and I never like the ending. Now, I'm older and after reading it iyr of nostalgia, I realized how realistic their relationship were. But I'll never recover from this, I'll keep crying like a bitch when George leave ┗( T﹏T )┛
