Do not be. I read the novel and it was clear that he chose to be controlled over. his mentality was already in that spot. What i mean is the others like father, brother , mage, ml all of them were under control but when fl start to question they got over it by questioning and trying to understand her. It was big brother's choice to not acknowledge fl and still be in Yvonne's control. It is also indicated that he bore feelings for fl that is not suitable for a "sister" so...
