I don't know if this is obvious to most people or not but Jack is 100% a long lost prince of the other kingdom that helped the mermaids. Mia wants to marry a prince and because that blonde haired prince is a total dickhead it only makes sense for this kind of happy-go-lucky story that Jack is apart of the kingdom that was there before the other royal family took over, and thus Mia marries Jack.
