That’s very much the reason. Because both Japan and South Korea are so culturally sexually repressed in terms of showing outward affection and sexual intimacy. This is what you get. A culture that sees no issue with the opportunity to not be held responsible for their sexual desires, which rape allows by taking on that mode of sexual expression/passion in way that allows the self insert reader to have access to these desires without the shame of initiating it themselves. If an outside source forcibly initiates this all the better.
