I think it's Kang Hyeon's country is making a catalogue for when the gods arrive, but other countries want to steal it to humiliate them or gain favor with the gods, or something. The western continent meanwhile wants to conquer Kang Hyeon's home. At this point, Kang found out the Elder Priest who raised him killed his parents (IDK if he was told the full story that the priest was pretty much coerced), leading to him quickly turning everyone against the priest--in like five pages, using his charm--and now he's left the church. It's one of those BLs with a great concept, but poor execution, especially with the pacing. IDK if the author didn't know how to keep the story going or if he's just not great with storytelling. I think his next work after "A Crown of Thorns" is gonna be original like this, though.
