Just wanted to throw this out there as an achievable new year’s resolution. I’ve grown tired of setting myself up for failure year after year with resolutions like jogging every day, but this, I think, is a resolution we can commit to as a community.
How about. And just hear me out. How about we try to detoxify the comment sections?
I hate to be controversial, but I’m kinda getting tired of scrolling through endless hate comments to find some discourse on what’s actually going on in a manga/webtoon.
Someone hates my fav character and calls him a bitch? Deep breaths... They say the story fckin sucks? Alright, okay, whatever. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions because we come from different perspectives and view the same story through different lenses. But there is NO reason to personally attack other readers. There is no reason to call other readers trash or wish they end up in an abusive relationship or provoke them for having a different opinion.
So let’s work hard this year to spend more time enjoying manga and webtoons than spreading hate in the comments.

I know what you're saying, but sanitizing comment sections is good in theory but I think you have to let people be free to speak their minds, even if it's irritating. there was a time here when you only had to get 25 downvotes to get your comments removed like you never said them. it was horrible

imo biggest difference between the avg taegu stan vs avg seoin stan is that one has a healthy separation between fiction and reality, and the other thinks shipping is a moral statement.
