What I understood is that Myungha won't die if he is tied to the MLs shadow, and that will impact the ML's longevity. ML will live a shorter life than he is supposed to since Myungha is being given some of his life force by being tied to his shadow

Because it is, the color and texture is not a normal shadow. Gjord uses some type of magic to move around more easily, especially to meet with Sylhan. If you notice, when Gjord shows up, he's still a little transparent, the background is still visible until he becomes completely there
