Ah yes, we’ve come far enough into the story that we must now encounter the obligatory amnesia trope.
This tactic is commonly used by storytellers when they wish to prolong the story and sell more chapters. Often due to running out of legitimate plot they must add some filler while they figure out how it should end.
Some readers (like myself) look forward to the amnesia chapters, as we get a good dose of angst and fluff that can only be found once we’ve established good grounds for character development and chemistry.

IDK man, I had high expectations for this since I love the other stories. But currently I dislike all the characters and the plot…
Then don't read
Don't expect before even reading a series each series has their flaws but if you don't like the characters and plot why even read it. If you're feeling confused then just don't read it.
I understand you completely. The characters are kind of unlikable and I'm unsure if this just has to do with just bc it's the start of the stories so I feel like that too.
I feel like it's unfair to tell someone to stop reading just because they have a few complaints about how the story is set up at the beginning. It's a valid complaint. A lot of stories may not start out good but can completely change once the story becomes more fleshed out. That can also get people reading and wondering just when the story might make a turn for the best. That's why I'm still sticking around.
So, I feel like complaining about how the characters are set up at the start of a story and finding them unlikeable is justifiable. Then as the story continues on, you can see how the characters grow and begin to toot for them more.
Plot is good, stick to it for a few more chapters
