This is way too different from the novel... It's like they took the concept of each arc and made a new story with it.. I thought I was reading an entirely new story..
Also, as someone who prefers no romance in such stories it grates on my nerves how they depicted him as someone who adhered being a gentleman anytime he was with roselyn when in the novel all he ever talked about with her was money, strictly business so to say, no hand kissing or cheesy lines... To be clear, i dont dislike roselyn, rather I wish they sticked to the novel esp during the time they were curing her since it fleshed out her character really well and showcasef her unyielding determination more.
The war in ferdium was also way too different, the tactics used in the novel were entirely different. The crazy horse wasnt supposed to emerge until a later arc with the barbarians but here he already has that horse. The fight in the forest was a lot more tragic. Overall, a lot of details were either completely left out or changed altogether.. and not in a good way imo.
If you read the manhwa it's good but if you read the novel you'll know that it's like you're reading an entirely different story but with the same concept. Idk what they were thinking when they decided to do it like this.
For a supposedly queen of a past era she acts a bit too naive or too carefree, idk how to explain but it doesn't quite give how a queen would actually act. She has her moments like cornering the dude and all that and slowly figuring out the ringleader but Idk, pretty sure imperial court and the inner chambers / king's harem which usually the queen oversees is teeming with schemes and a queen wouldn't survive if she doesn't have a firm grip on the concubines (they usually get pretty cruel in trying to "discipline" just so they can stay in power, like feeding them medicine to prevent them from getting pregnant, or making an example of one person so others won't try sht with her). I get that she's more of a general but she still lived as a queen for years, it's impossible for her to not experience power struggle for the king's affection especially since she's forbidden to use the sword when she got married. Anyways what I'm saying is, a scheme by a bunch of teenagers shouldn't be too hard for her to resolve quickly compared to what she should've been through in her past life, (and tbh, for someone used to killing people on the battlefield she's too lenient with her enemies here, look how that one girl keep causing trouble because she couldn't break down her spirit completely which is usually done to avoid further problems especially in her era where the smallest mistake and mercy could cost her her life. Not saying she should kill them but there are a lot of other ways to effectively instill fear in them compared to just beating them up and a couple of threats).
Idk I could probably say more but overall, it's more like a "hero" not a queen or even a warrior who got reincarnated. She's a warrior, someone who commands others and supposedly triumph in battlefields and wars are not all about fighting, torturing enemies to get information is not uncommon in such hellish situations and other unsavory stuff can happen, too. So yeah, it's a bit lacking for me but if you want to read fighting with a side dish of schemes then this is probably for you.
Atp, the whole queen of a past era looks more like a plot device for her weird speech, being clueless about modern tech and know-hows for martial arts. Now that I think about it, it feels closer to a martial artist being reincarnated but then again martial artist are far from saints in past eras, too, since it's survival of the fittest there... so it's really just the author not giving her traits of what a queen/general should have.

Didn't expect this to be this good?? I love how all the characters feel unique and alive, especially love how they characterize female characters with actually fleshed out personality and circumstances, (not gonna elaborate much but im tired of authors reducing women into just harem targets with barely any character or development).
The plot is really intriguing too, just the right amount of mystery and action with a side dish of comic relief to keep it from being too serious all throughout.
I wonder when the idiot trio will unite, their party combo is my fave so far.
