I mean, he's not into children and he does everything in his power to resist going into heat to the point of overdosing on his meds. Despite that, it was actually good. The child didn't know he was an alpha, the omega thought it would be ok to just hang out with the kid because he was on suppressants. When their parents realised that they were fated pairs they separated them (alpha moved away) and it was literal agony for them to be apart. But I do get the ick factor, absolutely.
