I'm sorry, I don't feel anything from this at all
I know it's intended to make us feel pity (or joy?) for the mc, because she's been trying to escape for a couple years. And how she's shedding tears of relief
But if there's background to her thoughts where she's lost her identity, her sanity and just jumps to tears of relief..then I can't feel anything, not even joy
As someone who easily tear up if a character is, I could not feel any emotions.
Frankly, as a reader that's what I look forward to the most. (Feeling emotional FOR the characters, whether it's joy or sorrow)
