according to what i sorta understood, the bearded guy is supposed to be managing the place that mc is in rn, however she found out he was commiting tax evasion, so she went to investigate him. So bearded guy is just a figure head in one of the lands she controls and might be a possible antagonist. The "duke's daughter in law" is most likely just a mis translation.

Yeah my guess on the translation is that it's supposed to mean that duke's daughter + the duke's (lawful) heir. So I think the translation just mixed those together somehow to be another phrase: "daughter in law"

The author is soo good at writing which I would say is rare for bl writers. The whole monologue got me sobbing in minutes like it was so touching and deep. The way he described his grief and his love is chef's kiss. Also this is the the literal 10/10 story excellent pacing, great characters, amazing dialogues, the illustrations are soo good and do i need to talk about the chemistry. most importantly it feels like they have a real story to tell, the type of story you would remember for a long time not a story in which mls were just fucking for half the chapters. God i hope i find more stories like this
Is it that hard to make and market a healthy relationship between two consenting adults. you can have plot without rape being justified as sex. You can have plot without having a dick of a main lead who genuinely needs therapy and Jail time.
