It’s because he’s butting his head into a relationship that doesn’t involve him due to his unresolved feelings towards the female lead cuz he knows he can’t have her. He was okay with giving her up to someone that he deemed better than him but to see that she’s really in love with a common man he can’t stand it so he’s pushing those feelings onto her which is toxic.
