Yeah the king should just go and die in the ditch, but I love how author portrayed him, because many other authors feel the need to uglify them to show us that this one is a bad guy, here we can feel that he is a disgusting monster and see how slimy his gaze is toward Psyche, he is literally like that one disgusting uncle in the family who looks at teen girls that he know from when they were little kids, and says stuff like "you are all grown up now" while looking at their body inappropriate
