Glitter's topics ( All 13 )

Having now re-read this with knowledge about the ML, I definitely saw it differently. I think this story is interesting in the topics it explores (mild spoiler in this sentence), especially since a lot of tops show symptoms of ASPD but it's NEVER directly addressed and rarely showed as something they're struggling with. But for something that goes so deep into psychology, is no one else off-put by how Jennie is portrayed? I've read quite literally hundreds of comics over the years, and this is legit the first time I've seen a non-middle aged character that's overweight. Yet, she's portrayed as stupid and ugly (it was so unnecessary to give her scraggly hair and a buck tooth). She's drawn so incredibly different from every other character, even the lady who's an extra in that first movie who's overweight (but again, older). It bothers me to a degree that it's distracting and it seems like no one else is talking about it.

Omg now that you mentioned it, I'm only seeing it now the ASPD. It is really cool how they actually delve into it

According to the creator’s note, Jennie was designed to be endearing and lovable. I personally thought she was okay, as in she had enough details to stand out from the rest of the characters and be memorable (albeit an annoying American haha). I can see why she wasn’t ML’s type but MC would argue that she’s beautiful.

She was depressed from the negatives in her life, and being delulu was her coping mechanism. You could argue that at 18-19 she should be too old to be believing in Prince Charming, but as a rare positive interaction in a high school setting, she held onto that hope like a life line. I don’t blame MC for indulging her even though he knew reality better than her.

I, too, would like to respond to a bully telling me to eat sandy food with just simply eating their car as a power move.
