Is it just me or what? I always like the side couples in any manga/manhua/manhwa better than the main couple.

To me it depends. Sometimes the main couple is better, and sometimes the side one.
Same. I found out that for me, it's mostly because since less time is spent on the side couple, they have less time to act really dumb, and there's less drama since the plot isn't focused on their problems. Or they solve it faster. Idk, they just don't drag on for too long like it often seems to be the case for the main couple. There are exceptions though: when the main couple doesn't act dumb/avoid communication to have more drama, I like them more.
