i'm not sure because i haven't read the novel, but i think officer song and hyunje are kind of foils for each other bc they're both insane but in a completely opposing way. both realized yoojin's ability and hyunje's first thought was to have yoojin at all costs while song was to get rid of yoojin. hyunje wants power, song adamantly pushes away from it. hyunje plays both side of the filial and the depraved, while song (at least as far as we know) is completely uninvolved and i can't imagine him getting involved with either side. even their looks are also complete opposite lol with hyunje looking like a playboy ceo while song looking like a serious government worker (both handsome ლ(´ڡ`ლ))

i really like the dynamic between the MC and ML, both of them are also interesting characters. its nice to see female MC who is not so innocent and pure, and ML who is not stereotypical perfect love interest but also has a dark past and flaws in his personality
honestly i'm getting kinda frustrated with this story because it feels like it's going nowhere. that loan shark is still not dead yet. jaehyuk obviously cares for yeonoh, he really came alone with 1B in cash which is really dangerous, and he still can't figure it out himself yet? like i'm just annoyed because everyone is stupid but i keep reading because the art is so good
the mistress is hilarious bc she's all like "i got here from my hard work manipulating people while the empress is only lucky to be born a princess" but she's actually not smart at all. messing with the empress budget when her own budget has things to hide is stupid, she's unnecessarily provoking the empress and causing her own position to be threatened. how is she so arrogant when she is only lucky to have similar looks as the emperor's mother?
I don't care if I get downvoted like hell but I'm sick of anybody still complaining about incest at this point of the story. like yall really need to get it through ur thick skulls that they are GODS not humans and the rule of incest or whatnot does NOT apply to them. it was even explicitly stated that bc of the gods beginning to "live like humans and act like humans" that they become weak, meaning in their essence human rules should not even apply to them. u guys realize they're all siblings and they reproduce with one another right??? think of the gods like elements instead of people: if earth and sky becomes one and produces life, is that incest? no, because they are NOT people. and YES this also applies to seth and anubis regardless of seth still seeing anubis as his son, because seth the god of sand was NOT meant to have human feelings. how do u have qualms with this but not with isis considering osiris as both her brother and her husband? that's just cognitive dissonance or double standards. seriously if u can't use ur imagination to think of how gods will not follow the same rules humans do, just drop the story instead of complaining
