my parents doesn't love or understand me.
What should I do?
Umm... thanks for your advice. Here's what I'm dealing with right now. When I try to speak to them properly or assert what I want to do in the future they twist it and say that you should follow what we tell you. When I hear them say I'm starting to hate you and you are useless, I die every single goddamn time. When I know my dad pushes all his expectations to me too much and he wants me to be a perfect.
Sometimes they tend to insult me to other people and fatshame me.
I still love them.
But sometimes I think: Maybe they can breathe a little better when I die?
What should I do?
I assume you're from the Philippines based on the flag on your profile, right? That's a common situation for a lot of children in the Filipino household and it's a sad reality.
Are your parents very strict or just when it comes to education?
Sometimes parents just assume what's best for you because their expectations are the only things they know have a guarantee that will secure your future. They don't know the certainty that other possibilities hold, so they reject them.
However, if you try to show them that you're really devoted to your decision, make them see the upsides of your chosen career path and show that you're putting effort towards that path, perhaps they will eventually understand. Surely there's no guarantee, but you can try.
Then again, this is my advice from a fellow Filipino kid (but who doesn't share the same circumstances), so feel free to take from me what you will.
I wish you the best. :)
