The guide has fallen in some kind of timehole and traveled a few years back in time. He met the esper as a child/Teenager and gave him and introduced himself as wooju

Our guide got kidnapped by that mindreader villian. They were at that inactive dungeon that our esper goes to check. Anyway, our esper went to rescue the guide and there was a fight with a fire esper and in the end our guide tried to save the esper by him by tackeling the mind esper into one of those cracks.
Earlier our esper mentioned that someone fell into these cracks and ended up in the atlantic ocean. However, our guide ended going back in time to when the vilians were using children in the inactive dungeon. Here he met our child like esper. The thing is, our guide was heavily burned and injured and could hardly talk with a injured throat andour little esper, who was hiding from the bad guys in crevice, took care of him. Our espers is a blind and could only see blurry images when he started using his powers so that is why he did not know what wooju looked like. Also the injuries were 3rd degree burns over something like 70% of his body.
I can spoil what happens next but this answers your question.
