I’d say he’s taking their encouragement to keep moving forward, throughout the journey here I’d say it’s kinda one sided for the girls. Gero truly cares for them and there’s no doubt he feels fond of or affectionate towards these women but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s romantic (yet. just my observation. I too wish for Gerosaki endgame and I don’t like harems.) I also do see better pairings for these girls (chiinatsu the protector and kirito the future head of iron clan for example)
