I imagine it's supposed to be like if you're a person of color and find out your white boyfriend has only ever dated women of your specific race. There's the question of whether that just happened to be the case, or if he has a fetish (and it starts to look more like the latter the more relationships he's had). Fetishization is usually paired with other racist and dehumanizing behavior

It's one thing to only date chubby girls or girls with flat chests. That could be a fetish, but it absolutely could just be a type. But it feels different to only date Asian girls (for example). One could argue that it's "just their type", but I'd always look at it suspiciously and not quite believe them.

So I think that's how they're framing it.

But in any case, assuming Mr. Kang is a fetishist was a crazy conclusion to jump to. Though I understand to a degree because his brother was there misconstruing the information and poisoning the well from the beginning.

I definitely agree because Mr. Kang tried not to make things so serious at first, it was Mr. Jin who kept chasing after him and the fact that he never said that or stuck up for Mr. Kang to his brother at all was weird to me when Mr. Jin wanted him first not the other way around, but I can definitely see why Mr. Jin would be a little taken aback by the fact that most of his exes are hybrids. At the same time, when you want a relationship with someone you have to be prepared to handle their past that comes with them and if it’s not something you like, nobody is forcing you to stay.

No for real lol. It definitely feels like a huuuge oversight. If I were to give the writing the benefit of the doubt, I'd say Jin is manipulated and confused and forgetting all that right now (which I guess is why they're talking about how they first met? To hopefully remind him of that). But it kind of just feels like the writer is glossing over that huge glaring fact and I hope it's addressed.

I don't like how Mr. kang is being mischaracterized and apologizing for his past like how he's lived was wrong. It'll really suck if Jin doesn't fucking apologize for the hurt and rejection he's put Mr. Kang through. He was always whining and crying over every little rejection or distance Mr. kang presented him with, even though they were very practical and delivered as gently and kindly as possible. And then he goes and does this. I reallyyyy hate it and it feels so unjustified.

There was a comment below this one I think where the commenter was saying they'd also date hybrids to get that massive hybrid cock. That's racial fetishization. Seeing a person as desirable primarily because of their race and seeing a whole race as desirable due to a stereotyped sexual trait.
It can create the feeling that your partner only wants you for your body and would take anyone else who happens to fit their fetish. There's nothing special or specific about you that they like other than the physical trait that they have fetishized.

Everyone is spitting BARS in this sub topic. I wanna touch on how even if the old man had a fetish for beastmen, the wolf boy has a genuine fetish for middle aged humans more. He demonstrated that when he sexualized him on the strain getting gang banged before he even knew him. And it was framed like it was his hobby. He even only writes books on it.

It feels like a plot hole that the old man didn't clock him given his observant mature nature and past relationships. Wolf boy can access him and cut him off whenever. Mr Kang is actually a pretty well rounded individual when it comes to relationships. He's cautious but not jaded, and he has a past that informs his present behavior as he tries to be the best partner he can. And on top of that, he was able to be objective and approach this relationship as something completely new rather than holding any kind of attachment or resentment from old relationship experiences that could negatively affect his present love.

And then there's Jin who is an immature old man fetishist with a projection issue (and an enabler brother providing the projector)
