It was a good reading yes some stuff are a bit annoying but every story always as something that will make us a bit go mehhh. But it’s nice I’m glad they all got a good ending even tho I keep feeling for Luca even tho he end up happy too. The only thing is I wish we would have known why the emperor resents he’s father , he got so mad after all. And why he hate women’s . Or just literally anything about the emperor would have been nice to know. But still it was good and a part of me is a bit sad it ends .
I actually really liked the ending, and I’m happy everyone got their happy ending! But I have mixed feelings about how far back Takemichi and Mikey went. The grief, struggles, and experiences everyone went through helped shape who they became and the bonds they built. They’re still the same characters, but in a way, they’re also not.
Personally, I would’ve liked it if, after Mikey stabbed Takemichi, they had gone back maybe two years instead of all the way to childhood. Not because I wanted Emma, Baji, or anyone else to stay dead, but because I loved seeing how everyone had grown and found happiness despite everything they’d endured. They had learned to live with their losses, and that gave their stories so much depth.
Going back so far almost gave me that “and then they woke up from a dream” feeling, although it’s not exactly the same. So much of their shared history and development was rewritten. I absolutely loved seeing little Mikey and Takemichi grow up together and save everyone, but I wish the ending had preserved more of what made their journeys so meaningful. It also felt a little rushed. Still a beautiful ending, just bittersweet in a way I wasn’t expecting!
