I just read ch 48 and MC’s father suddenly became my father, he had me crying. If you are someone who’s gone through bad relationships you rlly start to see urself in the MC. Maybe it’s a lower rating because people haven’t gone through those situation and get frustrated by MC’s choices? But honestly this will have a special place in my heart. Plus the art is so good! (▰˘◡˘▰)
I’m at ch 41? Somewhere around there… and the MC is driving me crazy. ML tries to help him out of a dangerous situation only to get yelled at and hit. MC gives victim energy but doesn’t want to help himself and will have no character development. But if I’m wrong plz lmk. #－.－)
i havent finished it yet but around ch 60ish i think? mc does have character development or wtv u want to call it. after the incident he tries to help himself so it wont happen to him again and for the first time has vanilla sex with the ml
I can’t explain why I like this toxic relationship but I do. To me this is the “good” kind of toxic and the plot driving it all, is really enjoyable. It’s definitely one of those where you have to trust the process, and really try to understand the characters pov’s. However, it does hit sensitive topics which I can understand people not being comfortable with. (These are self harm, suicide and )

I’m only up to chapter 3…honestly the same thing happened to me. I had a 7(?) year crush on my bully. Nothing he did put me off and it didn’t help that my family said bullsh*t like “oh that’s what boys do, if they like you.” （￣へ￣）The only time I stopped having feelings was when I completely moved away from home. So…I don’t think I can get angry at this MC, but we’ll see.
Ngl I don’t remember them from the Pearl Boy story but it has been like…3 years and I had no idea they did a side story a year later. So I’m reading this like it is its own thing. I’m at chapter…17 or something around there. The thing is, I like parts of their relationship but I rlly don’t like other parts…and the parts I don’t like keep repeating in different places. I’m understanding why the MC and ML are the way they are…but there is no character progression. The author is too busy showing us their past and mixing into their present moments. Up-to now I think the story is fine, the only problem is how it’s been arranged and makes the reader feels like they have indigestion.

I agree, but I think if it were longer it would have to touch on the more serious aspects of their forbidden relationship. Like marriage and heirs, rumours (I'm sure the other servants know what's going on) and society of that time period.
So the pacing and length is good for this "happy ending".
I really like this plot, the MC holds his own too. ML is sketchy but hot at the same time. I enjoy how much it makes u think. Only noticed now that this hasn’t been updated since…December. That’s the only scary thing about this imo.

I feel like I’ve been personally put through the wringer against Jaekyung
They are step brothers but that’s not what made me stop reading. What got me is how the author makes Woojoo child-like. Like wearing the underwear he wore as a kid(?) or around chapter 32 where he’s in ML’s shirt and looking like a child. Even ML makes comments about him being young and getting himself into trouble. I’m not sure why Author is leaning into this aspect so much. Without it, I think it would be a more palatable read. Thoughts?
I guess they wanted to emphasize the relationship between Hanbit and Woojoo (before all that) and the feelings Hanbit had for Woojoo, which was mostly cuteness aggression separate from the feeling of being hrny. Like, I have a cuteness aggression toward dogs, but Lycaon from ZZZ is very attractive so whenever I look at his abs, I drool, but the moment I see his face, my heart fluffs up and I get the urge to pet it (I'm not a furry, he's an exception). I don't know if you'll understand what I just said since it's more of a blabber than a proper response.
Also, I think it's just the art style that makes them look like children, and yes, Hanbit included.
