I thought even the Marquis was the who owned him and sold him like a pimp. But the ML fell in love with the FL, and the Marquis maybe had twisted obsession of keeping his daughter innocent, so decided not to marry her off to another noble. But instead to his 'dog'. So he could keep them both in his possession. Or something along that line.
I was so heartbroken.
But its not, haha, at least not one involving prostitution. There is something more inherently violating about forced prostitution than forced murder.
