A lil unpopular opinion but I don't hate the emperor that much, despite the first 9 years he seems to have gotten better, and all the messed up stuff he did was because of a random fanfic of a game
Im my opinion i just can't forgive him, he knew perfectly well that she was listening to him through the door, and for her to know and star behaving that way. It was a complete sentence from his heart, spoken aloud. Many might defend him by saying he was always drunk, but he chose that method of distraction and he was perfectly capable of running the country and thinking for himself. He wasn't any Mad King for it. He just drink to sleep.
And then she, out of nowhere started to be a ejemplar child, a saint, a blessing for him. It just happend that she read the book and realized that what was said of him of her up to that point in history was true and confirmed his dislike for her. Yeah the future was not it, the data of many things where wrong but him disliking her was real. He just started liking her version of a good child. She never lived as herself, never lived her childhood realy, all just to be liked for everyone and then be saved for her ejemplar beaviour later on. She lived to have shilds and survive. So again i just can't forgive him. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
I actually like him as a character.
He did wrong yeah but afterwards he made up for his mistakes and and wholeheartedly cared for her I think all the years after tht was more thn enough for him to prove his love for her as his daughter even if adopted he was always on her corner n always protected her better thn the tower master who only started caring for her cuz he found her interesting so I’m on the emperor’s side
I low-key saw this it has like 4 chapters out so if I remember I may upload the first 2 chapters because there isnt a pay wall
