The Duke fell in love with an idealized version of Alicia and doesn't actually know anything about her.
Chase met Alicia and naturally grew to be her friend and confidante as he fell in love.
If you planned for one person to be the ML, but the other ends up having better chemistry with your FL you might want to just go with the flow, rather than rigidly cling to the story you initially thought up.
Just starting out, but it really rubs me the wrong way. The story really wants me to dislike 1-Stars who won't fight, and feel some kind of catharsis at their deaths.
MC is kind of just a psychopath, and not in the fun way.
What? I have a couple of questions cause I want to understand your take. Does the story really want you to dislike those who don't fight, or those who don't contribute? There are civilians who do tasks such as cooking, crafting, etc. The only ones that have irked me are those who didn't want to do anything at all when others were risking their lives for them. Or those who chose to sow discord.
And Han? A psychopath? You need to keep reading for sure. He's fighting to survive, but he really and truly does come to care for them. Like, I've cried so much.
if you think of it as psychological thriller maybe it’ll help your view of the manhwa? you’re not really meant to feel catharsis. the manhwa doesn’t decide that for you. the idea is the uncertainty of life. not “look how many people we can make obedient”. the end goal of loki is for synthesis to not be used eventually but they’re at the early stages and under the control of another account owner. trust this is really peak. i can explain all the nuances and psychology behind it but its so much better to experience it yourself. MC isn’t a psychopath, he does feel a lot, but he just knows how the world works and has a goal (to go back to the real world). in the beginning he’s not as panicked as the others because of what he knows. remember that he is a top player.
theres a lot of action and psychological plots waiting for you.
You're still not ripe to read this kind of manhwa ,that I can guarantee , the more involve you become as a reader the more you'll see .
From my perspective, in the reading world everyone have their own unique taste and common taste and I say this type of manhwa fits in the category of unique taste with abit of normality in it , what I want to tell you is ' you've yet to develop the taste of uniqueness with abit of normality type manhwa .
I wish you all the best for your future endeavours, read other manhwa's in the meantime and come back after a year or two and when you do come back read it from chapter 1 and I promise you'll find it better .
The story is amazing , it have lots of potential.
I wish I have the taste of reading novels but unfortunately I do not have ( for me novels are the hardest taste of acquire )
I only like reading novels which doesn't relate of manhwa , manga .
Anyways goodluck

I think him knowing how everything works is actually what weirded me out towards him. He could tell the other 1-stars how the system works, warn them that they're going to die, but he seems perfectly content to let them be murdered just to steal their stats.
You're right though, I should focus on it being more psychological thriller-coded.
in a way, if i was a 1 star character, i wouldn’t believe in what he was saying at all/will be weirded out by him. like all i know is that i was a regular medieval person then suddenly summoned to this place. (MIGHT BE SPOILER?) if he explained how synthesizing works the entire lobby might go into hysteria and i think it was mentioned that hysteria can cause characters to die (bc they kms? or go crazy and the game kills them). the first few levels he’s probably completely desensitized because he does know and still think it’s a game. don’t worry though he has a lot of character development about that and it’s all super interesting! the lore is great

Its like the author had 3 isekai concepts in their head and they just smooshed them all into one, rather than writing them all individually.
