Who here thinks Blake is a steaming pile of hot garbage. what right does he have to claim Eugene as property? It's official that he never loved Eugene. What are your thoughts on Damian? It shows that he is some form of supernatural being. I suspect that Damien is this immortal vampire they are looking for.
If Blake is the priest I think he did love MC (at some point at least) because during the bonding ritual MCs cut or whatever healed/didnt explode like my man's over there (which I assume is bc his love was true?). We already established that fake love (he truely believed it to be love) don't work & the recipient will be harmed so-
even if he did love him, this man groomed him after killing his family so i hate his guts throughout all time periods
While I agree that he should eat concrete, I was commenting on the "he never loved him" which, in strong theory, wrong. I wasn't stating an opinion, but an observation backed up with evidence.
I get that the he never loved him theory may seems wrong but as someone who has been through Hell because of men like Blake. His perception of love that he protrudes make you believe that they love Eugene till they take something you can't get back like your virginity or even a Family(granted they did attack first) Blake believed his own lie of loving Eugene. As my Father still believes he loves me and that I love him even after he R-worded me. When all.of it was power and control he had over me. Like Blake has over Eugene. I hope Eugene can be free from Blake

Well it's (sorta) seen now that he doesn't & probably fell outta "love" w him after the ceremony because he realized MC didn't truely love him back. We never really got to see the moments they shared together when he "loved" him, only glimpses (flashback to them holding hands or something).
In the present it is kinda clear he doesn't and just wants to own MC (obsession with not losing him, but is willing to mess around with other people - which imo no one who is in love will do no matter what LMFAO).
It is blatantly obvious (I think..) that MC doesn't love him & only held on to the delusion because it was the one thing probably keeping him sane and safe considering he was young and experienced a traumatic event - no ofc he trynna play ball/stay alive in the only way he adapted in that moment of what I assume is panic.
Your point here makes sense on the "love till you don't hold value" but I still Believe that in this moment in the story//when it begun, the blake priest whoever didn't love Eugene anymore and would rather own him (which to some may be considered love but like besties run). If his love was fake/another delusion AT THE TIME OF OF RITUAL Eugene would have also taken an L and possibly died, which wasn't the case & the argument of my original post. What I'm saying is priest now = not love, just possession (but MAY stem outta love - not saying is the case), priest in what flashbacks we got in the hold hands/love ritual = was in love//subjective version//whatever.
While you probably heard this a million times, I'm sorry for what happened to you and your "dad" is a shit bag for doing it. In no case do I excuse abusive behaviour, especially when it happens in real life and carries real long lasting impacts on a person.
However, it is especially dangerous to compare real life to fiction and while the situations may have similarities, there are many differences. I don't & don't need to know your story since it's not my place to ask, nor comment. If the story is triggering or gets an emotional rise, taking a break is always best & take care of yourself.
In the end, I do hope, if anything, he ends up with the other guy, but he himself has issues so- ideally in the real world, man is free, happy, fuck m'en, but unfortunately this is fantasy.
No i think he was just using Eugene the whole time. He has no reason to keep a child alive other than to use it for his bidding. The themes in this are heavy on the grooming. They reiterate over and over that he raised him. He groomed him to be a play thing without any morals.
There's no doubt about the grooming and whatnot (my original comment never said anything to deny that so idk why we bringing that up), but explain how the ritual didn't affect the MC. Unless there is information we are missing (most likely), then one can only assume that he was left unscathed bc Blake or whatever experienced some type of love that fulfilled the ritual requirements.
This, like everyone's opinion, is subjective and a possibility, but not fact because no one can know/understand the dude's motives. However, if anything a child surviving an attack may provide something of interest or a new toy that is indeed disposable since being a vampire usually consists of long life and possibly (most likely) boredom. If this is the case there is a possibility for feelings to evolve (despite it being groomy & super fucked additionally because he low-key raised him????). Once again, if his love was fake for MC why was MC not harmed like he was bc MCs love was a delusion? The ritual has already (from my understanding) revealed that you cannot have "fake" love towards the other - but doesn't establish what kind of love (father, friend, lover, possibly even obsession/possession). This is where interpretations can get complicated, but all I was stating in my original comment was that there was SOME form of "love" that met the requirement & it would be interesting to understand it more/dive into the backstory of the two (not that it's needed, but for analysis it would be interesting - don't get me wrong my interests don't intersect with my morals - everything done to Eugene wss fucked from day 1 like killing of parents even if in sd, grooming, sending him out to kill,etc)
The comment I originally made was not to contest the grossness of his actions but provide a more accurate depiction of the story and offer more of a "why/what happened" and/or develop interest in the story contents and logics (such as the ritual because that's gotta be interesting - how does "magic" know?) because there are time gaps where things are hard to explain.
