The male lead is playing games, the pope is playing games, and the fl is treating the female antagonist like a dog toy. Maybe my impatience is truly getting the best of me, but I dont feel attached to anybody, the conflict feels watery, and any sort of romantic tension is weak.
I can see this as a banger first manwha or introduction to the genre, but for more seasoned readers there isn't enough flavor here to keep us at the table. I respect the work, but its not for me.
All the classic tropes are here. Big guy, tiny girl, hes scary but mellows out just for her- yada yada, I wanted to see where the medical development plot line came thru but they kinda ditched that for the preggo arc. Speaking of which, by mid preggo arc, I kinda just started scrolling past words. The constant words of endearment were cute, but damn like- I dont need a "you still love me right?" Every other chapter. Side stories were cute- the old emp being a pope now is wild tho. All in all, not bad. Solid core, shaky landing, but not bad.
