Trust, after he comes back in his plush form, their relationship will never be the same as it once was. I swear, I was so blinded during the first half of book 1 because everything just felt so natural and "wholesome" between them. I'm glad the TV show host arc happened though cause it was a good wake-up call for people like me who initially thought there wasn't much toxicity in their relationship.
Although they won't be as buddy buddy anymore like in the 1st half, I promise you it only makes their dynamic more interesting and gives Soleum room to grow throughout book 2 and 3. (He's subconsciously codependent of Braun tho bc of the 'good friend' plush effects)
+ Ik mangago has that annoying feature where it notifies everyone including the ppl who reply under the same comment whenever someone makes a comment so I would just like to address that my initial reply up there was meant for the OG commentor.

So basically Braun is, at the end of the day, a ghost story. His concept and treatment of "friendship" is completely different from a human's standards. During the arc where he kidnapped Soleum, their dynamic was slowly becoming that of a worker×boss, even if you consider the generous bonuses Braun adds for Soleum's working conditions (+ he subtly contaminated Soleum's mind in the process to make it feel 'normal').
It's like how people try to tame animal species that are known to be meant for the wild or not meant for companionship. It'll stay true to it's nature and bite back when you let your guard down.
Not to worry, Braun really does cherish Soleum as a friend. Though ever since the TV show host arc, there's a clear line between them. Probably cause of the fact the friendly stickers effect finally wore off. After that arc, Soleum has to constantly make sure he's "entertaining" because he made a deal with Braun to show him amusing things. If it breaks your heart too much (like mine), I tend to cope with the fact that the "good friend" plush effect rubbed off on Braun so there is a teeny part deep down that makes him attached to Soleum.

I didnt read the stuff after that, and I know the relationship won't ever be the same, braun wasn't really subtle each time he tried to convince soleum to "join his side" or whatever. But it just felt like a unique and special spice to the internal monolog ┗( T﹏T )┛
Although the toxicity seemed kinda weirdly fitting in my view of soleum the "all-knowing-memory-master" he knows what braun is and yet still keeps him like a secret cheat code. They just felt so cute. Soleum was scared the whole time but they felt real even for a little （/TДT)/
Although its embarrassing to admit, but im kinda expecting a "come-running-back-like-a-dog" arc with them(づ￣ ³￣)づ. Kinda like those toxic manhwas where the final straw breaks and the mc leaves the main lead? Ykwim? And the lead tried to get a second chance and is all soft a gooey? Yeah that what I wanted. But im guessing im never gonna get it （￣へ￣）
