It's just weird....it doesn't follow the vibes of the character. This toxic behavior from the ML just came out of left field (btw I know the ML is disconnected from his emotions and doesn't even see yeomin as an equal, he's an asshole forsure) but this vibe is overtly toxic like it's forced on the character. It's sad when authors don't know how to progress a story so the just use some dogshit troupe. God I'm tired of all this low effort K-drama input into manhwa. I'm sure there are other intriguing ideas to spark drama and action if they just took a few days or weeks to come up with something. I'm very disappointed with the way the story is going. It's so unfortunate. It's feeling like JINX all over again . So much potential tossed out
'It doesn't follow the vibes of the character.' You literally admit Taeseo is emotionally disconnected, sees Yeomin as inferior, and is controlling… and then act surprised when his behavior becomes more controlling. Like, what exactly did you think those traits were leading to?
'This toxic behavior came out of left field.' Did we read the same chs where Taeseo literally doesn't listen to Yeomin, calls him chatty and boring, and dismisses him as an 'easy lay'? Even his own secretary basically sees him as a spoiled rich kid and an asshole. The man has been showing you exactly who he is from day one.
'It feels forced on the character.' Forced? The whole point of Taeseo's character is that he doesn't process attachment like a normal person. When his feelings get stronger, his need for control get stronger too. That's not a personality transplant. That's the flaw escalating.
'The author doesn't know how to progress the story.' Or maybe the story is progressing in a direction you simply didn't predict. You can't call something bad writing just because you didn't see it coming.
'Low effort K-drama trope.' Babe, a trope isn't automatically bad writing just because you've seen it before. What matters is whether it follows the character. And this one does.
'It's JINX all over again.' Calling it JINX all over again just bcs the story didn't follow the predictable route you wanted is the cherry on top. JINX would be "the character suddenly does something awful bcs the plot needs drama." Here, the awful thing IS the point: we're watching an already established flaw escalate when Taeseo finally has something he genuinely fears losing.
'So much potential tossed out.' Maybe the potential is precisely in seeing where Taeseo's already established flaws take him when his attachment finally gets pushed to the limit.
You didn't catch the author ruining the story. You caught the story doing something you weren't prepared to understand.
Basically his behavior doesn't translate to someone who would kidnap or take hostage of someone they see as inferior. The most likely response would be to act nonchalant and dismissive, because again he is emotionally detached. Obsession is still a form of emotionally response. The ML hasn't shown such a string amount of emotion that's relational to obsession. He's been distant with yeomin and did sugar daddy acts that he felt people in his previous relationship liked. He has literally not shown any sting overwhelming emotions towards yeomin.
Incase you didn't notice that read it again.
Also your tone and response is very condensing. You can literally ignore the comment and keep reading this manhwa. Like bro I have no issue with anyone who enjoys this or want to keep reading this. You do you, but don't come here responding to me without actually understanding my comment This is not a comment of " ohh toxic trait so I'll complain" , I have read a lot of obsessive seme, shit I have a huge list of them. I have no hard feelings for that particular type of character, I merely explained this particular ML isn't obsessive. He's an asshole but he isn't obsessive. If he is or was supposed to be, the author did not clearing showcase that properly.
