I've had just finished rereading this manhwa again and suddenly remembered why it left such a great mark on my life, I first read this manhwa almost 8 years ago! when it was still just updating so I can say it really has been a while and I have forgotten some parts of the story if I hadn't picked it up again. Dojin and the Yellow dragons story is so gut wrenching, beautiful and inspiring that out of all manhwas I've read over the years I really don't know why but their story just sticks with me!
I won't lie when I say I really want more of them and that the story still has me asking some questions like, "how did the highschool friend who assaulted dojin came to the other world in the first place?" I mean sure there was a tiny answer for that in the story but I really wanted to know what came of him after and "what happened to black tortoise?", "why did red lotus want to be a god?", or Garan and Dragons relationship and all the animal spirits that unfortunately had a tragic end...the God of Creation too she was a really important character I wanted to see more of her TT...There were just so many characters who I wanted to see more in depth!!! I was really hoping to see some side stories of dojin and the yellow dragons life after the ending and what Yellow Dragons punishment was! Were they really back in Yooguk or did they meet in the afterlife??? I also admit that there were some instances where the chapters were too dragged out or slowly paced then suddenly out of nowhere a sudden action or tragedy arises (like w/ rat and finding out the other animal spirits were killed) and how I thought black tortoise was too late to be introduced to be such an important character to the story and the ending...
But then again I think that's also what makes this story so memorable, bittersweet and tasty, because you don't know what really happened to them next! Yellow Dragon loves Dojin so much and vise versa that he willingly sacrifices his own power and life force to turn back time to try and save Dojin, to be with him a little more! You would think that in the end it would be him that sacrifices his life to save Dojin but it was actually the other way around, Dojin loves him so much he was able to feel familiar with him to yearn for his smell in all his 27 lives in which Yellow Dragon gave, in the end he sacrificed himself for Yooshin. I wish I could have the Yellow dragons yearning, patience, love, perseverance(?) and overall whole being to be able to do what he did to keep seeing Dojin again but also despite his greed and longing for Dojin he always kept Dojins wish first. I love them both so much. People can have different interpretations of the ending but I for one will believe they return to Yooguk to rule together for centuries to come.
And for BWAT, I truly TRULY love all your stories I will continue supporting this author for more years to come and continue reading their stories for years that hopefully will never end. BWAT has truly the most beautiful stories than any other author I've read, each of their stories have different kinds of genres and character dynamics but for some reason when you read it you get the same feeling you read for every story of theirs. I've seen this author grow and improve and it truly has been a great journey growing up with them as a reader and reading their stories! (currently reading blossom of the white night!) Their stories have touched my heart in no ways others did, will always support them no matter what.
That's all for my commentary and I hope I leave my mark on here! To those that skipped my whole dialog and is still currently reading this story, Happy reading! To those that are rereading, did you enjoy it once again? I hope you did! And to those who just finished reading, I know you want more of them hehe. There's still a lot I probably wasn't able to say in words here, but just to let you all know the feeling is definitely overflowing so much that my fingers aren't able to catch up with it nor do words have anything more suitable to describe it.
May the Yellow Dragon and his Emperor live their happily ever afters.
I don't bother listing things I'm currently reading, read or want to read. I just read, thank the experience, forget about it, and get a nice sense of nostalgia when I find it again to reread.
