There were smut scenes before season 3 in the Novel like the cottage scene and what not. I don't know about it being rapey, the duke has great vigor for sure. They are always having snusnu wherever and whenever they can in the novel. Not so much in the webtoon.

No, the previous scenes were fine. I know. But after season 3 started there was this one super shady scene, basically they had an argument (very valid from FL side) and she told him she’s not gonna be a doll looking pretty beside him and wants to do more and have things she wants to achieve. And he kinda disregarded that. She got mad. He said he was gonna punish her for it, took her to a room pretty aggressively and with servants outside the door. He kissed her, and ya know hinted what was gonna happen and she told him to stop. He didn’t. The second smut scene after that seemed better, but honestly the whole situation and that night just was pretty sus and with very doubtful/unclear consent (at least with translation I’ve seen and tried). It’s one of my favorite stories so I have such mixed feelings about this. That’s why I asked for a novel to read in detail how that scene went. It doesn’t help that he knew people were questioning her chastity and looking down on her already (and he did that as her “punishment” with the servants outside who could hear everything). It just seemed so toxic and abusive. Idk, it infuriated me. I wanted to read the novel to find consent for that scene, just anything to make it look better

I was there just for the smut scenes, but I totally agree with what you are saying. The whole webtoon had an underlying misogyny the fl was tryna fight against, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were the same way during the season 3 scene. It was definitely sus, but at the same time I wouldn't trust the translation. I agree with you tho. I'll try to find what chapter the new season 3 is in the novel cause now I'm also curious and tryna recall how the scene went in the novel. Honestly yeah, I do remember the Duke being touchy feely with no regards to her position. His personality is just a tad bit different in the novel, so his personality is similar to his portrayal in season 3 of the webtoon. Like I'm pretty sure in the novel (SPOILER) , he didn't care for the child and the child literally died. The webtoon doesn't have a lot of details on it and the kid wasn't killed off either. He seemed very demanding in the Novel like in season 3.

Yeah, like season 1 and 2 in webtoon I didn’t feel like they were that kind of characters. But in season 3, so far what I’ve read, it’s like they were completely different people. After that scene, he seems a lot better again. Like helping her with her goals, next smut being very consensual etc., him being a good husband. But if he’s gonna turn trash then… I will consider dropping it on season 2, where is ended on a good note without ruining season 3 for myself. He seemed disinterested in the child already, but wow that’s disgusting. Yeah, I think this webtoon is ruined for me, especially if this is the direction they want to take this to. I would still appreciate help with that one scene

Like in webtoon he wasn’t a complete green flag, but regardless of pretty weak FL (which usually annoys me), I really liked him. Like he was very caring and careful. So this switch is just… I mean if you already changed someone’s character from the novel, stick to it. Then I would’ve dropped this faster, not suddenly change it on season 3. I loved art so, so much as well. Gosh I hope that scene (it’s chapter 115 in raws btw) is not what it seems
