Either the author forgot or my theory is that maybe it was his father who was going to kill him (as a zombie perhaps) and Guwon actually saved him? I don't see why else he'd kill the dad, and then it could be that Jinwoo's memory just mixed it up because he doesn't want to believe that his dad would do that (or that he turned into a zombie). We don't know much about his dad or what happened to him so anything is possible. But I hope the change is intentional and leads to a plot twist later

Go between Episode 0 and 24 to compare the scenes.
Episode 0 Jinwoo is hurt and cannot comprehend what's happening around him because he's close to dying/passing out and has a head injury.

He hears a lot of things happening (Raiders robbing and attacking others) and misconstrued the events due to his injury. That's why you can't see the raider clearly in Ch 0 and his speech bubble is black. The thing he is holding is purposefully placed off screen. Ch 0 you think it's a weapon, but in truth it's a water bottle. The last dark speech bubble fades into white, as if the truth is barely peeking out.

Ch 24 reveals the TRUTH. There's no dark shadows hiding anything. The scene is completely clear.
A raider DOES appear, but is chased away by his Dad. To Jinwoo the two of them merge as the same person in Ch 0. His Dad returns and the scene from Ch 0 plays out with his Dad's real dialogue, some of which is similar ("look what I found" vs "there you are" in reference to finding Jinwoo). His Dad mentions having been chased by some guys (likely the Hounds), but says he got away and as he holds out the bottle, Guwon smashes his head in, killing his dad. The bottle falls and lands on the floor. In Ch 1 we can see it on the ground next to the Dad's body. But do we see a weapon on the ground anywhere? No.

Jinwoo passes out for a bit and when they are on truck he wakes up. Guwon had taken the water and is now giving Jinwoo water to drink. At the time we don't question where the water bottle had come from, but now with the truth revealed we know Guwon took it from the Dad.

Guwon later lets Jinwoo come back to where Jinwoo's Dad's body is left. It's a surprise! Since Jinwoo said he wanted to get his memories back on his own Guwon pretended he didn't kill Jinwoo's Dad when Jinwoo asked him earlier, because then the surprise would be ruined! He didn't lie he says! It was just a secret so his surprise wouldn't get ruined. You know? Just like when you lie about a surprise birthday party so that it stays a surprise! How nice of Guwon! Lol When Jinwoo confronts him Guwon finally does admit he killed his Dad, but obviously to Guwon this is not a big deal so he doesn't get why it's upsetting. He just thinks he did a good job on his surprise!

So Jinwoo in S1 is unreliable because of his memory issues. The reveal at the end of S1 has his real memories come back and shows the truth: Guwon was not his saviour like he thought, he had killed his Dad. The way his heart pounded near Guwon may have actually been a natural fear response and not love like he thought. His body remembered, even when he didn't.

I feel the same. Like, the replier's theory is elaborate but it also doesn't make sense (not to mention it would be unclimactic). So Guwon killed Jinwoo's dad for no reason and acts okay about it? That's unlikely because so far he always had some kind of motive behind murder and he's protective of Jinwoo. If he killed Jinwoo's dad, there has to be a reason and he doesn't want the truth to hurt Jinwoo maybe. If the dad was not a zombie nor harming Jinwoo, he could have just taken him AND Jinwoo because there's no point in killing him in that case. Guwon might be crazy but not the usual possessive maniac black flag violent top type of crazy imo and the author probably has more in store for us than that (at least I hope so)

I kinda feel like it might be the truth tho cuz yeongha talked abt how guwon killed her friend and also how gueon killed the doctor's family before taking them so he doesnt exactly need a reason to kill jinwoo's dad. Especially because that wouldve been their 'first meeting'.

I feel he really killed his father but I don't think the Mc knows the full truth because of his head injury your theory makes sense but I honestly doubt that's the case I don't really know how to explain my reasons why I feel there's more to his 'father' but I really do feel there's something Mc is not seeing clearly

Even if there is more to going on with his Dad, it doesn't change that Guwon has killed the Dad. We've now been shown that two times in the exact same way (Ch 24 and this new chapter on the loop restarting). The head injury was at the start of S1 and he had memory issues that whole season until he went back and found his dad's dead body. Only then did he finally make the connection that the person who died by Guwon's hand was his Dad. Guwon killing the Dad was the big reveal for end of S1.

Guwon has a proven history of picking and choosing who he saves and who he attacks. He kills the doctor's family because they're deemed useless to him. He doesn't have the same regard for human life that others do. That's been shown as a fact of his character. We get to see him kill others on the outside when him, Jinwoo, and the hounds go to find resources. He's admitted he sees other people as if they are pets, with Jinwoo being an exception.

A reason he likely attacked the Dad is the Dad had a resource so he attacked him for it (the water bottle). Especially, if the dad had run away from the Hounds and not just regular raiders. Then Guwon saw Jinwoo laying there (not a threat so no reason to immediately attack him) and Jinwoo asked for help so Guwon went to see if he was useful. He even says he has to find out if Jinwoo is useful or he just won't help him and only helps him after finding out he has a degree in teaching.

Have Ch 0 and Ch 24 open next to each other and see the comparison between the way the scenes play out. You can see the bottle on the ground and no weapon.

Eh, then the memory issues part of the story would be kind of useless. Also, if Guwon really just randomly killed the dad for no reason, then either Jinwoo will hate him or this turns into one of those cliche manhwas where the top is a black flag and does whatever psycho things he wants but the bottom just forgives them for everything just because big . Either that or the author randomly adds that Jinwoo didn't like his dad anyway so it doesn't matter or Jinwoo will stop liking Guwon? But either way, as I said, it would be just so unclimactic and simple if that's the route and there's no more to it, too many BL manhwas are lacking in story and depth nowadays already

Seems like only us two feel that way I really hope there's actually more to it than that because the other theories just sound lacking and boring somehow when there's potential in the story for more plot twists. And as you said, the memory issues wouldn't have much importance if that's all there is to it. Also I'm just really tired of cliche black flag BL manhwas lately that are more toxicity and smut than actual plot and creativity so it would be a letdown if this one took that road too:')

My explanation wasn't meant to be a theory. The OP was confused on if Guwon killed his Dad or not and I was explaining the story as it was currently presented to us in just these two seasons. We just saw the dad get killed the same way, holding a bottle, at this finale as it was shown in Ch 24 when Jinwoo got his memories back. If that dad was secretly a bad guy and the story hasn't revealed it yet that is not really relevant to the question of if Guwon killed the Dad or not.

Honestly, with us being this far in the story now, the Dad being secretly evil feels like a cop out because then it takes away all the fault from Guwon and makes him too easy for Jinwoo to forgive. Turns Guwon back into being his saviour who saved his life from bad Dad. I think Jinwoo having to navigate through a time loop with his new knowledge while dealing with Guwon who doesn't remember him is extremely interesting and can have very complicated character dynamics.

For me it really feels like the memory issues was the focus and big reveal for S1, where we had to come to terms with Guwon being a very inhuman being. He has proven to be a character who will kill others fairly easily. He killed the Doc's family without even talking to them just because he figured they were useless. He kills a ton of outsiders in this season as well. The dad was running away with a valuable water resource so he was a prime target. He doesn't view death as being a big deal.

Then the big twist for this season is the time loop reveal. I think it's going to be more focus on that aspect of the story and how things change in the loop. We also still need answers for so many other things like: why is there a time loop? What exactly IS Guwon? Etc that the story could reveal.

The end of the last loop hinted at growth from Guwon when he was in his cell. He had said he didn't see what the big deal was with dying and that him killing people was actually like "saving" them and Jinwoo made him realize that wasn't really true. I think Jinwoo will continue to be his "teacher" and he'll grow more. Only Jinwoo is able to get Guwon to understand humans more. Also, Jinwoo knew he killed his Dad a whole season ago and did not forgive him all of S2 and started a rebellion which lead to Guwon dying so shown he's not just going to forgive him easily just bc of a "big dick" bc if that were true he'd have done that already.

Youre completely right that it would be cliché if that was it but i was just saying that's all we can really conclude from the info we've been given so far
