Damn, this was an intense read. It’s just so dramatic - and mostly for no good reason. Drama for the sake of drama. Every time I thought things would finally have settled, something would happen. And every time I thought they might’ve finally learned that they could solve their problems by just, you know, talking together, they would yell at each other instead and Yi-rim run away. I get that he’s gone through stuff but goddamn. Idk, it wasn’t a bad read but just very intense, to the point that it got kinda frustrating. The ending is sweet, though, and the side stories are mostly fluffy and cute
Okay, I really enjoyed this. It was slow paced but somehow still well paced. I really liked the characters and the way the author delved into who they are, what their motivations are, the way they change and develop. It was almost (almost) like a character study. We really got to know them, as much as you can get to know characters in such a short story. I love how the author also pointed out how absurd the world of an omegaverse is, it was honestly really funny. At the same time, it also made a point about prejudice and how we shouldn’t judge people based on stereotypes. It was interesting to see the mc go through that and realize the way he is judging other people - people who are just trying to live normal lives, just like he is.
I can see that some people disliked the side couple but I honestly liked that part of the story as well. Mr Lee is a trooper who deserves the best. I enjoyed getting to know the couple and hearing their backstory.
I really, really liked the plot with Gido, it was kind of heartbreaking but in a bittersweet way. I don’t think I’ve seen a plot like this elsewhere. (Spoiler from here). Realizing that both Gido and the mc had feelings for each other in the past but they both held back from confessing, too young and too scared to ruin their friendship. And with time, the feelings faded and instead they stayed close friends. The thought of what could’ve been if they had just been honest. I’ve gone through something similar and it’s a bizarre feeling of really appreciating this friend in a, now, purely platonic manner but knowing that it maybe could’ve been more. That doesn’t mean you want it to be more any longer but the thought still lingers. The author portrayed this in a beautiful way.
Yeah, just a great story.
HUGE TRIGGER WARNING FOR INCEST AND RAPE IN THE SIDE STORY, CHAPTER 85 AND ONWARDS!!
Why the hell did the author have to ruin this otherwise really good and wholesome story with the last side story? I was so happy after the finale but not I’m just completely grossed out, leaving this manhwa with such a bad taste in my mouth.
Spoiler (trust me, it’s not worth reading it but if you’re curious, here’s what happens):
It starts off as just a continuation of the previous side story between Dojun (Doyun’s brother) and the doctor (forgot his name). It honestly started off pretty sweet, at least initially. Yes, the doctor had been weird in previous chapters but I thought he was okay in the beginning of this last side story. Doesn’t stay that way, no no. He get manipulative and toxic as fuck. And then the third brother comes into the picture (forgot his name, don’t care to remember it because he’s gross. But the older one with the long bangs who’s already a douchebaf before this side story). Turns out he is in love with Dojun, his own brother. He has himself convinced that Dojun is adopted - because he has a different hair color??? This doesn’t get resolved by the way, we never find out if he’s actually adopted. We do see a scene where he asks their mother if Dojun is adopted but her speech bubble is left out blank. I do think it’s heavily implied that Dojun is NOT adopted, based on the douchebag’s reaction and him saying in the end “if we weren’t brothers we would be lovers”. Did I mention that the scene where he asked the mother if Dojun is adopted takes place in like high school (he was wearing a uniform I think)? Meaning that he would KNOW that Dojun is his biological brother, has know for YEARS, and still kept up this delusion. Not that it matters if Dojun is adopted or not anyways, they’re still brothers. The douchebag keeps pestering Dojun, eventually raping him while Dojun is blackout drunk after a fight with the doctor. Literally taking advantage of him. He doesn’t go “all the way” but it’s still assault and it’s incredibly graphic. And he doesn’t regret shit. When Dojun (finally) leaves, the douchebag says he will be waiting for him to return once he gets his heart broken and he’ll always love him. There are no actual consequences, other than Dojun leaving. Yeah, I don’t know what to say other than it’s extremely disturbing and gross. I will add that the main story is very good so it is worth reading that. Just stay away from the side story once the main story ends. Don’t read past chapter 84. Spare yourself the trauma.
Truly what the fuck was the author on for that last side story. You have so much you could’ve written!!! And THAT’S what you chose?? I thought that douchebag (I won’t be calling him by his name here either) moving in with Dojun would mean Dojun would have to work through his past trauma with him which had caused him to be so self conscious regarding relationships but not fucking this. I couldn’t peel my eyes away and I wish the author just focused on the fucking main couple cuz why did I have to have a cute story with a side of trauma- literally - and that shit not to be resolved at all.
Am I the only one who’s really bothered by Felix going behind Gio’s back and making him go through a medical treatment without neither his consent nor knowledge?? And an experimental treatment at that. That’s incredibly fucked up by Felix and serious medical malpractice by Danny. And then Gio finds out about it but chooses to deliberately deceive Felix and act like he doesn’t know and that his condition isn’t improving. Oh hell no. How did this sweet relationship turn so toxic so quick?? I haven’t read the whole thing yet but I am so put off by this that I’m heavily considering dropping it. I know it’ll probably get worked out in the end but that is such a serious breach of trust, in so many ways, that I can’t imagine anything making it okay again.
Nope! I made a comment about this as well when I reread the manhwa
Felix doing that was soooo wrong and even Felix knew that. But reading the scenes genuinely made me so uncomfy because of the no consent to do it thing.
I would skim over them whenever I reread lol
I'm currently rereading again and I'm already prepared to skip those chapters
Because not to mention, my heart genuinely ached when Felix ended up getting Gio's condition and Gio felt horrible. He genuinely felt like he was the one who caused it to happen to Felix because of the treatment
Don't drop it though! I'm pretty sure it's just that part that's super uncomfy/toxic
Other than that there's the unnecessary "met as kids" troupe but that was introduced before then so
Wait, I’m confused. Didn’t Beom and Dowon get engaged at the end of the main story? How come they aren’t wearing their rings in the second side story? And why is Beom looking up how to propose when he’s already done it? Did the author forget how they ended the main story while they were working on the first side story? (≧∀≦)
Yeah I know that but that has nothing to do with why Beom proposed twice, no? I went back and in chapter 76, Beom got down on one knee, gave Dowon a ring and asked him to wear it as an engagement ring. Dowon was also planning on proposing that same night and had a ring prepared as well. At the end of the chapter, they’re both wearing the rings. So I don’t know how that would mean anything other than them getting engaged at the end of the main story. But then in the second side story, it’s like none of that ever happened. They aren’t wearing rings and Beom is trying to figure out how to propose. Meanwhile, Dowon is referring to himself as a husband and Dowon’s mom even refers to Beom as Dowon’s fiancé - and that’s before Beom proposes in the side story. It’s honestly pretty confusing imo

Damn, they really are so down bad for each other. Jaeyi is falling so hard already, though I doubt he has noticed it. I pray to the BL gods that this will be a story where the seme realizes his feelings first andhas to chase after the uke, not vice versa
