I think you're looking at what an omegaverse is wrong, it's just a base where authors can add their own additions to their stories that could catch on or not, and you just have to sometimes use context clues to understand that version of the world. So really, you don't need to catch up on any "lore."

Yeah, you’re right! It’s just that sometimes they make sure to explain that before it starts or at least in the introduction so you know what’s going on. I’ll be paying more attention now though!
