The way I stumbled across this after I met a former classmate and found out she’s married to our old chemistry teacher lol
(Way way way after we graduated from high school. They ran into each other 13 years after graduation… plus he was like 25 when we were 18). But how funny to see a manga with the same premise.
I read the novel and then reread the whole manhwa again.
This isn’t really a romantic series, nor does it intend to be. It’s not *not* romantic, it’s just very aware of its genre. Hence the name. The best possible ending for this series is that the ML becomes obsessed with and fancies himself in love with the MC. The MC is shown to be fairly simple (not stupid! He’s actually very hard working and resilient). He wants a stable life and his grandma taken care of. Once he has those things. He’s fairly content.
So, it’s not a complicated series and the resolution is pretty clearly laid out. It has a predicable end.
I think the only liiiiitle bit of frustration I have is for the MC. He’s not the smartest but he was getting by! He was so hard working a diligent, and outside of being scammed, he was making smart choices and responsible for his own life.
You can see that resourcefulness when he runs away. Again, he’s not some super genius but he’s practical and hard working.
I think in the end, it’s that same resilience that allows him to find happiness with the ML. He’s able to find contentment even in bad situations, and I gotta admire that survival skill.
Anyway, I think this story delivered exactly what it promised, and had a more romantic and happy ending than I expected.
Ummmmm. Where to begin with this story. It’s a lot like the other stories this author writes. Tons and tons of sex. Bottom is dumb as rocks but seems like he was kinda groomed that way lol. Lots of freaky tentacle sex and can get downright creepy/horror at times.
White haired top is shady but Bada seems to really love the stupid bottom. The cat turns into a cat boy version of the bottom lol
Has a thing with the white haired top.
I wouldn’t call this story romantic, very sex heavy with supernatural elements. Not really my cup of tea.

I just realized I have literally spent 2 years waiting for this moment in this manga. In that that time I have gotten married and promoted at my job. And Hayato hasn't even managed to get a kiss yet. Poor boy.
I think this is the rare case where the bottom became less of a twink as the series progressed. Compare current chapter him to first or second chapter. I’m not mad. A surprise to be sure but a pleasant one

I’m always conflicted about this….
On one hand, coercion… on the other, MC knows the influence he has on ML and is fine using that for his own gain (as his manager) SK he’s also using coercion. It’s a mess. It’ll work out but the start to their relationship is… a mess.
It’s not just the stripes, I think the MC has the most generic face ever. It’s hard to take everyone hitting on him seriously when he looks like the most boring, nondescript person ever. Especially next to the ML. Even the side characters look unique and interesting and he just looks like he could be an NPC. That would be totally fine, if the manhwa didn’t keep trying to convince us that he’s supposed to be very attractive.
Also, re: the stripes… I get that it might have been a thing in the novel (I can’t remember if it was when I MTL’d it), but when it’s executed in a visual media like this manhwa, it looks ridiculous. Some artistic license should be allowed so that the MC doesn’t look like a cartoon character with only one outfit.
I am still buying the series, but it’s because the plot is interesting. If he continues to look like Waldo the whole time, istg…

Just binge read this. I will fight the world for this little family. Seriously had me grinning like a lunatic and sometimes crying like a kid. These two are perfect and their daughter is adorable. Nothing bad better come next season, otherwise I will isekai myself into the story and protect them!!!
Does the author know they could start a new series without ruining this one? How could you tear apart a couple that finally achieved a happy ending.

I fear lots of angst is coming. ML is a complicated man who probably has a million skeletons in his closet. And I don’t think MC will easily open his heart. ML is def falling for him but I can’t see the MC falling for him anytime soon.
I love this author so much. I just bought every single chapter of the official version of this to support them. This one is so worth it to support the creator.
This story had such potential but it just didn’t live up to it.
The fact that like 99% of the sex scenes were when Siu was drunk still sucks. Second ML was cuter… MC being wishy washy got tiring… just meh
I have done the math. I started reading this in 2005 when I was 14 years old. Misaki was 18 and Usami was 29. In the manga about 4 years have passed, and Misaki is 22 so Usami is 33. I am now 35. I’ve been reading this series for so long that I am now older than both the characters
