mm the student is giving dismissive avoidant and the writer is giving fearful avoidant. the detachment is giving the student enough space to warm up to the writer, but if the writer fell for him, i think the student would cut him off. but i think the writer's self esteem is so low that what will happen is the writer will not even entertain a romantic thought because his own mama hates him (why would his fuck buddy like him?). so the student will fall first and then the writer will be overwhelmed and shut the student out... mm . wishing them the best and to overcome their trauma..

I honestly thought of the second route as whats realistic based on their dynamics. One things for sure, ideum wont be the one to fall first. As he is someone who really lacks self love, he wouldnt or will deny himself feeling love or loving someone. Jaeyi, on the other hand, who is kind of self centered is more capable of catching feelings first (he kinda already is getting comfortable which is unusual of him as a dismissive avoidant). So yeah, the route is probably jaeyi realizing his feelings first and confessing and ideum cutting him off or doubting him. But cant be sure
