In novel, Tae did scream at him that he will be back but his voice was blurred by the background noises.
You can see, He also said in this recent chapter as well but it was blurred crossed because Ilay couldn't listen to him.
Next would be (spoiler):- Tae would settle everything and try to return to Ilay. He would be in airport when Ilay would kidnap him (Ilay would be international terrorist at this point) in misunderstanding of again running away.
And then we will have that one horror chapter similar to Rose and Champaign's chapter of after-Leewon-got-three-times-shot-by-Ceaser #－.－)

I sometimes feel like that author forgot or doesn't know how to move forward properly.
It does happen to me as well like when I have idea to write something and even started it. I get problem moving forward as I also have to balance both character design with plot. If not, then whole character design might fall or story get boring
