(apparently) unpopular opinion but I actually like the MC. She's a bit selfish and is neither a genius villainess nor a pure wallflower. It makes sense for her to be so attached to the ML since he was one of the first people she met and takes great care of her.
In the recent chapters you can also see how her character develops and she learns from her mistakes. She's not perfect but she tries her best to be good to people.
To me she feels relatable and human, because of her flaws.

The same goes for the ML. I really appreciate how he's not the stereotypical aloof dark emperor. He acknowledges his own feelings and seems to be emotionally immature, which makes me think he ascended the throne at a young age and while he can be a good ruler, this is his first time experiencing this personal closeness with someone.

All of the characters in this seem to be in their twenties at most, based on their characterisation, and still figuring shit out (I cannot remember if we got their actual ages). This makes them already so much more likeable to me than some characters in other manhwa.

Currently Abel is my favourite. He's the hilarious voice of reason needed in these troubling times.

Anyways, that doesn't mean this story is perfect. It is super fast paced, has some writing flaws (imo) and isn't that original. But it's also not as bad as some comments make it seem. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I tried so hard to love this because everyone does apparently but it's proving to be difficult. I did take a loooong break at aroung chapter 70 and then binged the rest just today. But still, I have zero clue what is happening. Why is any of this spy shit important? Who is double-crossing who? Why is everyone acting like Jake has some genius plan?? Rolfe was acting like it was Jake who master manipulated her into going to his side, but I don't get it. Was she corrupt before? If he was taken off the mission, why does he still want to go through with it alone? Can't they just get someone else from the agents to do it?

Also, it's been so long and I still cannot find Jake hot. One, because of his fuckass haircut and the yaoi hands, but two because he's a CIA agent. I know it's glorified in media and here they're treating him like some super cool spy but all I can think is ACAB and that includes the CIA. The uniforms are sexy though.

I enjoy their sexual dynamic and how the manhwa is not afraid to show Shin grabbing Jakes ass, pecs and dominating him ლ(´ڡ`ლ) The sex scenes still aren't attractive to me but at least they're original.

Lastly, will we ever see Jake begging screaming crying throwing himself at Shin's feet without being a manipulator about it? I hope so

I know most of the comments talking about this aren't recent, but I just want to remind everyone that the bird is a magic familiar made of Aura or something. It's not a real animal. (=・ω・=)

Hate him the most, but all the Mafioso people suck ass. Papa was the best of them, since he changed for the better.
To be honest I love a mutual toxic romance, and we certainly got glimpses of that here, what with Lee Won making them have a Battle Royale with real weapons. And individually, in a vacuum, I like Caesars character a lot. He's pretty complex and I understand where his actions come from. If this was an action manhwa with him as the MC I'd eat it up.
However, I like Lee Won more, and because of that I hate Caesar for how he treats him. He never listens to "no" or "stop", doesn't tell him shit even when he is directly involved, and lies to him. When I read that the novel is different from the manhwa, I had a little hope that maybe in the novel Caesar actually dies and we get a tragic ending. Never bothered to find out though.
Anyway, I'm glad this story ended when it did. At this ending point their relationship seemed to have hope for improvement, and I can just imagine a happy ever after where Caesar gains basic respect for human beings.

Fluffy, kinda boring. It's an okay read if you're looking for something that scratches the itch for BL clichés.

I really disliked the side couple from the beginning and their plan to "distract" the MC by deceiving him into a relationship. Yeah it was innocent and quick, and mostly done for plot, but that plan would've gone so horribly if MC actually fell in love with Etzel (or what his name was). Blondie did not seem to consider the emotional hurt MC (his supposed best friend) could've felt when the fake relationship inevitably went to shit.
This is all just hypothticals of course, but I generally hate tropes like that where the friends interfere in the MCs life like that with no thought for repercussions.

Only extremely tangentially related, the Fireworks Island storyquest in Infinity Nikki executed this same trope very well imo ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Guys I think the sister was just a figment of Naos' imagination due to his guilt. She didn't really have any of her own opinions and just reflected Naos' state of mind and the questions and dilemmas plagueing him.

Also, I really want Logan to become involved in the freak. He's just my type (hot and kind of shady) ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

This is the kind of manhwa an actually good female protagonist would be reincarnated into and complain about all the choices the author made. Then she would get revenge on the royal family (mostly the emperor) and run off into the sunset with Lucas ( =.=)~

Sadly this is poorly written garbage and unless one of us gets isekai'd it will stay that way (u-u )
