this may be weird but i literally don’t know where else to post

I don’t really remember the premise of this story, but I think it was about this guy who had found or bought a human-looking robot. The man ends up falling in love with this robot. I don’t remember if the robot was like programmed to work for a temporary amount of time or if it ends up like disappearing or something but the guy is obviously heartbroken and then time passes. He is walking around and sees a person identical to the robot, not sure if he saw him (robot look-alike) like in a billboard or like in real life walking down the street. I think there’s also like a ring involved somehow just to try and give more detail because of how vague this is but this is all I remember. Please help me find this.
