I think one of her mother's boyfriends possibly SA'd her. tho tbh i think her mother is oblivious to the fact, there mustve been obvious signs that the mother didnt pick up on so thats why she feels hurt and this resentment towards her mom. I hope im wrong but the abrupt explosive anger right in the middle of healthy communication just makes me feel that way...

I am picturing a very grim scenario. Imagine she is a pre-teen and her mom's bf comes home drunk, he tries to force himself on her and Soojung is desperate. The mom shows up and accepts his "I was drunk and thought it was you" excuse and lashes out at Soojung for not wanting to be around the guy because he "didn't mean her harm". And now not only is she traumatised for life but she also knows her mom will never pick her side. Extra points if even after breaking up the mother doesn't make a big deal out of it and tells her daughter she was being too sensitive.

oof yeah i can also see this being the case of her brushing off an attempt. But a small part of me has hope that she has some love for her child... so i think i'll stick to the mother being oblivious to the things happening. I feel like she leans more towards neglectful than a mother who would blame her child. an even smaller part of me hopes and believes she'd be the type to explode in anger and violence if she knew... well that would come as a surprise to us all and her daughter
