I mean they are in high school, how so you expect them to answer and tell what they really want.

Dane is a complete Dominant Omega and Dominant Omegas can hide pheremones and past test as a Beta.

The story and art form is good no doubt but, it's very stretchy story. It took way to long to develop the romantic front after the first awkward meeting of MC and ML. Though it would be much better if there was increase of sweet small interactions and attraction development were shown or ML pampering the MC and him reciprocating it was shown. But the indications are like it will take time , I see.
The frustrating point for me is MC being in a denial mode. I mean dude, what's your problem
