I hate it when in yaoi one of the couple calls the other wife and uses female pronouns, when it's much hotter to call them husbands. it isn’t a straight couple geez
I think it's an Asian thing. I saw some gay couple in Asia still using husband and wife terms because it's not about gender but about the duty. A wife take care inside the house and a husband take care outside the house. It's cute to see a harmonious couple working together like that
I guess everyone has their preferences because in some BLs both men are called husbands So I guess it depends on the author but personally I don't see a problem with it
For example I'm a lady and there's a male friend of mine I call my wife, and there's a female I call my husband

it makes sense! i still don’t like it bc i prefer gay couple representation but i understand now
it’s great people are giving context about this conversation, but the even if wife/husband is used as a form of endearment it still feeds into the patriarchy and somewhat contributes to misogyny with this topic. it’s like a rectangle and square. misogyny isn’t inherently patriarchal- but the patriarchy is inherently misogynistic

don’t know why you got dislikes when this is real asf. i hate it too, when writers use heteronormative language with gay couples
