They are both wrong. I’m not saying that leaving your stuff everywhere as an excuse. BUT. The way he used to live wasn’t horrible. He would be busy then get to things later. He is not dirty just busy. They should’ve just talked about it earlier instead of “it’s okay” ing eachother in their hearts and minds.
