LMAO

I randomly came across this manga but when I finally decided to read it it made me realize that I had been avoiding more deep and thematic stories because I was scared to be hurt or find them tragic or cry. But this story made me realize that experiencing emotions like that isn't necessarily a bad thing. All the characters were moving and interacted with eachother intimately. Sure I felt that the ending and Cha Yoo Gon's backstory was a bit rushed but overall it was very compelling. The main antagonist was a nuanced character, and I liked how the author had him show emotion had his plans mess up and not have him as a stereotypical stoic villain. I liked how the author made the audience condem him. Revealing that Yoon Jung Hae's father had raped him did not make his actions against Cha Yoon Gon justified. And the panel where he gets called a rapist and his reaction to the word is later explained when the vault is opened. We also witness the Yoon brothers distance from each other, because Yoon Jung Hae cannot forgive nor trust his younger brother anymore but he still cares for him. My favorite part of this Manga was the side characters especially the old man and his daughter. Her judging her father's work choices but later accepting that he only works there to support them and that loved ones can do things that others consider immoral or shameful because they do it for the ones they love. I feel like having the old man as a father figure contrasts soo much with Yoon Jung Hae's father because most of the events of the manga are due to his corruption. He took in in an already violent boy and then violated him later on. His "business" of being a loan shark and basically a mafia family led to his wife's murder and the break down of his family. His actions towards the antagonist led the antagonist to later on torment his sons. I feel like it really showed the effects of one person's actions on later generations or storytelling wise one person can affect the overall plot. I really did want more indepth analysis or backstory for Cha Yoo Gon and even maybe an epilogue where we find out what the characters get up to and how they navigate a new beginning but the absence of a concrete ending leaves audiences to imagine a more light hearted and joyful future than the actual reality that can stand before us.

I know I cant be complaining when im the one who chose to read this knowing it was gonna be kinda bad, but what they did to Edmund is crazy. Imagine you grow up w/ out a father and then suddenly your mom says your dad is the emperor and you're like so happy. You become the crown prince and sure your mom is a little obsessive over the title but you work hard for 7 YEARS in yhe position. And then, the previous empress comes w/ her kid and ok that's fine you have a little brother. Only to find out you're losing you're crown prince title to him. Ok that's fine. BUT THEN YOURE MOM WANTS U TO POISON HIM. So u pretend to poison him bc the empress isn't that had of a person and you like your brother and you dont wanna hurt people and you're being forced into this position. And then you're mom gets thrown into prison. You find out you're dad is actually not the emperor and is intact the evil crown prince that THE EMPEROR KILLED. You never get to speak to your "father" ever again and then you're basically exiled w your uncle after all the shit you went through. LOSING YOUR NAME YOUR TITLE YOUR SUPPOSED IDENTITY. AND YOURE TELLING ME HE JUST ACCEOTED IT?? imagine going though all that and then finding out yhe empress is holding a month long celebration for her new kid...damn I would have revolted fr.
